    DECATUR, Ga.—Agnes Scott volleyball saw its 2019 campaign come to a close with a pair of 3-0 losses to Brevard and Piedmont on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Woodruff Gymnasium. The Scotties hung tough all afternoon despite being extremely short-handed with no substitutes available for the matches.

    ATLANTA—Agnes Scott Volleyball fell to Oglethorpe in three sets on a rainy Wednesday night in the city. The Scotties hung tough in the opening two sets before the Stormy Petrels were able to pull away in the third to clinch it without any extra games.

    DECATUR, Ga.—Agnes Scott Volleyball hosted a USA South Conference quad match on Saturday afternoon, where they fell to Berea College and Maryville College in straight sets. The Mountaineers took the first match of the day 25-18, 25-20, 25-10, getting strong on offense as the match wore on. Maryville kept its unbeaten streak alive with a pair of wins on the day, including a 25-22, 25-11, 25-7 win over the Scotties.
  • Scotties Drop Conference Match to Scots in Three Sets

    LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.—Covenant College protected its home court with a 3-0 win over visiting Agnes Scott to take the 2019 season series from the Scotties. Agnes Scott hit much better across the board comparative to its trip to Lookout Mountain just four days prior, but the Scots matched with a season-high hitting percentage to down the Scotties 25-15, 25-18, 25-14.

    DEMOREST, Ga.—Brevard and Piedmont both bested Agnes Scott College volleyball by scores of 3-0 in a USA South quad Saturday at Piedmont College. The Scotties fell to the Tornados in the first match of the day before returning the court in a three-set loss to the host Lions.

    LAGRANGE, Ga.—Agnes Scott Volleyball dropped two USA South Conference matches at LaGrange College on Saturday afternoon. The Scotties fell to conference unbeaten Huntingdon College 3-0 in the first match of the day before rebounding well in their second match. Agnes Scott claimed its first set victory of the season in the second game against LaGrange before the Panthers were able to pull away late for a 3-1 finish.

    DECATUR, Ga.—Agnes Scott fell to Covenant in three sets at Woodruff Gymnasium on Tuesday night. On a night the Scotties celebrated the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness month by donning their DigPink t-shirts, Agnes Scott was unable to get anything going on offense. The Scots dominated two of the three sets, winning outright 25-7, 25-21, 25-9.

Maryville ran away with a 3-0 win in the Scotties’ first match of the day, but Agnes Scott gave Berea everything they could handle in a three-set loss.

For the second Wednesday in a row, the Barons did just enough to get by a Scottie squad still searching for their first victory of the season. The Barons improve to 3-13, while Agnes Scott sees its ledger move to 0-8.

Agnes Scott held firm control of both of the opening sets, but slowed down the stretch to let the visiting Barons sneak in and steal one from them, 32-30, 26-24, 25-16.

The Scotties opened the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Mississippi University for Women, before losing to Centre by the same score in the day’s finale. The Scotties will look to avoid an 0-3 weekend when they play host Sewanee tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

    DECATUR, Ga.—The Agnes Scott College Athletics Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Shanna Trone as head volleyball coach, effective July 15. Trone comes to Agnes Scott following a four-season stint as the head coach at Talladega College in Alabama.
