LAGRANGE, Ga.—Agnes Scott Tennis saw its 2018 campaign come to an end on Friday after they ran into its stiffest test yet in a 9-0 loss to Methodist. The Monarchs, the top seed in the USA South East Division, kept their hope for a fourth consecutive bid at a conference title alive with the big win.
The Monarchs took all three doubles flights by the score of 8-1 despite some stellar play from the Scotties. Methodist's depth across the lineup was on full display with eight different players getting action in the match.
Agnes Scott's best chance at grabbing a point came from the racquet of senior Camille Wilson (Cincinnati, Ohio), who had ridden a nine-match winning streak into the day. Wilson was locked into a back-and-forth battle with Methodist sophomore Allison Himes, but ultimately fell on the wrong side 8-6.
Agnes Scott finishes the year at 6-12, while making the USA South tournament for the second consecutive season.
