HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Agnes Scott tennis wrapped up their Spring Break trip to the PTR Spring Tennisfest with a win today, taking out Arcadia University, 8-1. A strong doubles performance from the Scotties gave them momentum, and they capitalized with 5 more wins in singles on the first five matches on court.
In the doubles, the Scotties led from start to finish on all three courts, as Maddie Hoffman and Anling Kaplan picked up their second straight win at the #3 spot, taking out Maeghan Myers and Casey Boldt, 8-1. Olivia Rivas and Camille Wilson quickly followed with an 8-2 win over Allyson Naiken and Janelle Bradley at the #2 spot, and the team of Taylor Lee and Lizzy Engsberg finished things off with an 8-3 win at the top spot, over Amanda Shulski and Zoe Foglia.
In singles, the Scotties rolled to straight set wins at the top 5 spots, before the Knights (1-6) were able to prevent the shutout, as Boldt took out Isabel Zhao at the #6 spot, 6-2, 6-1.
The Scotties will return to campus and start preparations for the heart of conference play, but first have a Thursday afternoon encounter at Oglethorpe University, the #13 team in the Atlantic South region.
