DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott's soccer team continued their strong start to the 2016-17 campaign, with a 4-0 win over USA South Conference rival, Wesleyan College (3-2-0, 1-2 USA South). The Scotties (4-1-1, 2-0-1 USA South) outshot the visitors, 38-2, and led in corner kicks, 16-0.
In the first half of play, Sophie Zemrani got the scoring started early, scoring off of an assist from Erin Innis less than three minutes into the game. Leading scorer Sarah Fisher would tally her 5th goal of the season a short time later, finding the upper left corner of the goal after weaving through the Wolves' defense, making the score, 2-0. The Scotties would have many more opportunities to score in the first half, but Wesleyan goalkeeper Jessica Austell had 5 saves to keep them from adding to their total.
In the second half of play, it was Innis who was on the receiving end of a teammate's assist, as she drove home the 3rd goal of the game off the pass of Zoey Perchaluk. The final goal of the game would be a historic one for senior Catherine Pratt, as the defender scored for the first time in her collegiate career, booting the ball past Austell after a perfect pass from Caitlynn Croft.
The Scotties will travel this weekend as they take on Salem College on Saturday, before wrapping up the weekend on the road at Piedmont College.
