  • Perchaluk Nominated for Prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year Award

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Two-sport Scottie Zoey Perchaluk (Fort Erie, Ont.) was named as Agnes Scott College Athletics’ nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year on Wednesday. Perchaluk was an eight-semester student-athlete for the Scotties in soccer and basketball before graduating this past May.

    ROME, Ga.--The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2018-2019 Academic All-Conference Team. This season found 1,441 student-athletes earning Academic All-Conference honors, including 32 from Decatur.

    DECATUR, Ga.—The setting sun peeking through the Leticia Pate Evans Dining Hall windows was a perfect, symbolic backdrop to the 2019 Agnes Scott Athletics Awards Banquet on Thursday evening. The Agnes Scott Athletics Department celebrated the accomplishments and victories of both teams and individuals during the ceremony, as the 2018-19 academic year comes to a close.
  • Grant Voted to USA South Awards List

    ROME, Ga.—Junior Garis Grant (Charleston, S.C.) was named to the USA South West Division Second Team on Thursday afternoon as released by the conference office. Grant found her name on the season awards list for the third consecutive season after finishing as one of the top producing forwards once again.

    DECATUR, Ga.—There was plenty to celebrate on Saturday afternoon for Agnes Scott Basketball as they cruised by visiting Wesleyan 66-6 at a packed Woodruff Gymnasium. The Scotties hosted Senior Day and their annual Play4Kay game while giving the home crowd a show in the 2018-19 season finale.
  • Scotties Fall to Hawks on Final Road Trip

    MONTGOMERY, Ala.—A torrid start carried Huntingdon to a 65-43 win over visiting Agnes Scott College in USA South Women’s Basketball play on Wednesday evening. The Hawks scored the first 15 points of the contest and never looked back to secure a season sweep of the Scotties.
  • Grant Passes 1,000 Points in Loss to LaGrange

    DECATUR, Ga.—Junior Garis Grant (Charleston, S.C.) became the fourth Agnes Scott basketball student-athlete to break 1,000 points for a career in the third quarter of a 60-39 loss to LaGrange on Wednesday evening. Grant’s complete effort was a bright spot in a frustrating offensive night for the home side.
  • Tornados Surge Past Scotties 73-49

    BREVARD, N.C.—Brevard’s offense was white hot from beginning to end to help the Tornados to a comfortable 73-49 victory over Agnes Scott in a USA South Women’s Basketball contest on Saturday afternoon. Garis Grant (Charleston, S.C.) led all scorers with 21 points while notching her fourth consecutive double-double in what has become a dominant January for the junior.
  • Berea Holds Off Scottie Shocker in OT

    BEREA, Ky.—Berea (13-4, 9-1 USA South) survived a scare from Agnes Scott in a 70-68 overtime contest on Sunday afternoon at the Seabury Center. The Scotties looked poised to notch their second win of the season in upset fashion, but Berea scored in the waning seconds of regulation and then again in overtime to beat the visitors.

    MARYVILLE, Tenn.—Maryville College broke open a close game with a powerful second half to beat the Agnes Scott Scotties 83-47 in USA South Women’s Basketball on Saturday afternoon. Garis Grant (Charleston, S.C.) had her fourth double-double in the last six games with 15 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks to lead the Scotties.

The Lions and Scotties played to a fair even first quarter, but Piedmont’s consistency on offense proved too much for Agnes Scott to keep up with in the 30-point defeat.

    MACON, Ga.—Agnes Scott Women’s Basketball put a big check in the win column as the Scotties controlled host Wesleyan for all 40 minutes in a dominant 88-22 victory at Porter Gymnasium. Several Scotties saw career highs across a multitude of stat categories, but none more glaring than a game-high 20 points for first-year Deja White (Loganville, Ga.) off of the bench.

    DECATUR, Ga.—USA South West Division leader Piedmont took care of business with a 71-53 victory at Agnes Scott College on Sunday afternoon at the Woodruff Gymnasium. Behind the near flawless showing from junior point guard Amari Price (Hiram, Ga.), Piedmont was able to build up a 15-point lead in the first half and kept the Scotties at bay in the second half to clinch the contest.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn.—Rhodes College defended its home gym with a 73-47 win over Agnes Scott in the final game of 2018 for both teams. The Lynx outscored the Scotties in each quarter and broke open the game in the final period to win its seventh contest of the season. Agnes Scott falls to 0-12 this year.

Agnes Scott falls to 0-3 after playing three games in four days to start the year.
