JACKSON, Miss. - A strong first half was not enough this afternoon, as the Agnes Scott College basketball team fell in their first action since the Winter Break, falling 72-45 on the road to Millsaps College (7-3). The Scotties (2-6) were led by Shavonne Orr, who bucketed 12 in the loss.
For much of the first half, the Scotties were in the lead, before finally relinquishing control with 6 minutes to play in the first half, going to the locker room down by only 4. However, the second half would see scoring opportunities limited for the Scotties. Kisha Simpson, who scored ten points in the first half, did not get a shot off in the second half, as the Millsaps defense clamped down and forced the Scotties to look elsewhere for scoring options. Care Bacon scored 7 of her 9 points in the second half, and was the lone player with multiple baskets in the second frame.
The Scotties will return to the road on Tuesday, as they travel north to take on Berry College at 6:00 p.m.
