    ROME, Ga.--The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2018-2019 Academic All-Conference Team. This season found 1,441 student-athletes earning Academic All-Conference honors, including 32 from Decatur.

    DECATUR, Ga.—Agnes Scott Softball invites all high-school-aged players to attend its 2019 Scottie Elite Camp set to happen on Wednesday, July 10 at Oakhurst Park. The camp is designed to give any softball student-athletes a look at a series of simulated college practices and prepare them for a potential future as a collegiate player.

The Agnes Scott Athletics Department celebrated the accomplishments and victories of both teams and individuals during the ceremony, as the 2018-19 academic year comes to a close.

Fitzgerald, who transformed into a dominant force for the Scotties down the stretch, was named as an at-large nod on the USA South West Division second team
  • Scotties Split Season Finale on Senior Day

    DECATUR, Ga.—Two potentially big moments brought fans out in droves to Oakhurst Park on Saturday for Agnes Scott Softball’s regular-season finale versus Wesleyan—Senior Day and a chance for the program to earn its first postseason berth since joining the USA South Conference. The day was nearly a rousing success after the Scotties won game one 6-3, but Wesleyan battled back with pride on the line to take an 8-2 result in the season finale.
  • Hawks Edge Scotties on Conference Doubleheader

    MONTGOMERY, Ala.—The trend of Agnes Scott Softball not backing down from a tough opponent continued on Wednesday, but the doubleheader ultimately ended in a pair of close losses to Huntingdon. The Hawks edged the Scotties 3-2 thanks to a late-inning run before holding the Agnes offense to only three hits in a 3-1 game two victory.

    ROME, Ga.—First-year KayLeigh Fitzgerald (Dalton, Ga.) has been named the USA South Rookie of the Week in the sport of softball after a dominant week at the dish. Fitzgerald posted team highs in hits, runs scored, RBI and home runs during a 1-3 week for the Scotties.

    COLUMBUS, Miss.—For the second consecutive series, Agnes Scott earned a much-needed doubleheader split to notch its fourth win of the season. After dropping game one to the Mississippi University for Women 6-0, Agnes Scott charged back with a 5-2 game two victory.
  • Scotties Splits with Covenant in Offensive Showcase

    DECATUR, Ga.—Agnes Scott Softball saw its offense break open in a big way to earn a split with visiting Covenant College on Wednesday night at Oakhurst Park. The Scotties built up a big lead in game one and held off the Scots for a 7-4 triumph before seeing a seventh-inning rally fall just a run short in a 9-8 loss. The Scotties move to 3-21 on the season, but earned their first USA South victory of the season and now sit at 1-7 in conference play. Covenant’s record goes to 8-15 and 3-3 respectively.
  • Game Two Rally Falls Short, Scotties Drop Pair at Piedmont

    DEMOREST, Ga.—Host Piedmont held off a late Scottie charge in game two to complete a USA South sweep on Wednesday afternoon at the Walker Athletic Complex. The Lions won going away in game one, 8-0, before squeaking out a 4-3 triumph in the nightcap.
  • Spirits Outpace Scotties in Non-Conference Twinbill

    WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—Agnes Scott Softball’s road trip to North Carolina met a difficult end as the Scotties were swept by former GSAC rival Salem on Sunday afternoon. The Spirits shutdown the Scotties offense, outscoring them 19-2 in the doubleheader sweep. Salem took the first game 10-2 before settling for a 9-0 win in game two.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C.—Pfeiffer University proved why it was a preseason favorite in the USA South East Division, beating Agnes Scott 17-2 and 11-3 on Saturday afternoon. The Scotties hit well against one of the hottest teams in the region, but Pfeiffer’s nationally touted offense kept the pressure on from the start.

    LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Four Agnes Scott Softball student-athletes were named to the Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athletes list this week. Senior Jessica Costero (Miami, Fla.) and juniors Alexei Young (McDonough, Ga.), Jamie Candler (Caseyville, Ill.) and Jordan Keesler (Trenton, Ga.) all garnered honors after earning a cumulative grade point average of above a 3.50 following the 2017-18 academic year.
